Fiber arraysFiber arrays position glass fibers in relation to one another so accurately that they can be married to the optical chip with a minimum of work. The drawbacks of silicon arrays - high costs, a lack of geometrical freedom due to process-related material characteristics and an increased risk of rejection at the array finishing stage as a result of the unfavorable combination of materials consisting of a silicon array, quartz glass fibers, cover element and polymer glue are completely eliminated by the arrays manufactured by INGENERIC |

Characteristics and advantagesThe arrays manufactured in accordance with the customized design are available in a wide range of materials (quartz glass, optical glass, ceramic) and guarantee complete macroscopic and microscopic geometrical freedom. Specific stopping surfaces to assist assembly can be fitted as can either V or U grooves, as required. The accuracy of the arrays is in the sub-micrometer range. Meticulous adjustment of a uniform material system to suit the jointed fiber array can thus ensure that the finishing operation conducted on the arrays, results in products of uniform quality. |
